Find Your Special Tree:  Check out the sample trees located against the warming shed when you arrive.  One of the receptionists can answer questions about the trees and point you to the field which has the type and size of tree you desire.  Take a cart from the corral to help return your tree.

Cut:  Once you have found the tree simply cut it off with the borrowed saw as near the ground as practical.  Once down, remove the branches on the lower few inches so that your bowl can fit without interfering with the lowest branches.

When back at the warming shed the tree will be mechanically shaken to remove unwanted field debris.  You can have it drilled, no cost, to receive the pin type stands.  Many people also have their tree wrapped, $2, to make transport and entry in the house easier.

Care:  Water, just plain water, is the best.  Mount the tree in the stand when you get home and add water as soon as practical.  The tree will drink and lot of water during the first 2 days and then almost stop.  This is normal.

If tree is to be stored, do so in the shade, or in a cool place such is the North side of the house, with cool and shade in mind.  Then, saw off a 1/4" of the butt before mounting in the stand.  Add water but don't expect the tree to drink as much as if you had not stored.

All our fresh cut trees properly watered can be expected to last easily 2-3 weeks without excessive needle drop.  Some will have no drop.  Others such as spruce will experience limited drop.  Many people use a tree bag when removing the tree to contain any unwanted loose needles.
