| SledDog Lodge
is a premier sled dog training facility located near the Lake Superior shore
near Tahquamenon Falls in Michigan's Upper Peninsula. Numerous
successful Iditarod teams and a Yukon Quest dog team have been trained
in the area. SledDog lodge caters to season long tenants who are
experienced in mushing and serious about high caliber dog sledding. We
have a 6 person cabin and a 2 person cabin with 30 and 50 dog pickets
located for easy sled hookup and team departure and arrival.
There is also space in the main lodge for the weekly or weekenders.
Plus there are campsites nearby for those who prefer to stay in their own
rig and train their dogs while sharing some of the life style of the
Iditarod training camp. Water, showers, and phones are available. And we are
happy to share what we know and welcome newcomers to the sport.
Welcomed also are those who want to stop in for a few hours to visit and
learn about the dogs and perhaps ride along on a training run. We
enjoy getting to know you.
And yes there are those who come to hunt birds, bear and deer. This
is some of the best bear hunting in the state. An occasional wolf howl
can be heard and moose tracks down the driveway is not uncommon.
