October 8, 2009:  It was a stunning scene!  I was driving away from SledDog Lodge blanketed with 3" of snow.  The dazzling sunlight was causing the brilliantly colored hardwoods to sparkle in thousands of drips. My thoughts drifted back to another Sunday morning when daughter Whitney and I were running dog teams on an identical day. I thought I heard someone singing and wondered if she had a radio. I stopped my team to check and found that she was singing church hymns to the dogs. Looking around at her panting muddy dogs and stunning scenery, she remarked, "My church is the most beautiful in the world." Yesterday was special because of that memory.  Yes, a worshiping young woman running a team of muddy, steaming dogs in a dripping forest with dazzling sunlight making thousands of sparkling drips.  It was a day to remember. The memory lingers.

November 13, 2009:  Brutus died.  He was a sled dog I identified with at a soul level and I am still working through his passing.   More, then.
